We are excited to announce that Mind in Harrow has secured £172,534 in funding from the National Lottery’s Reaching Communities Fund. This funding allows us to continue delivering the Hayaan Somali Project until August 2028.
Why This Matters
Many Somali families in Harrow experience barriers to accessing mental health support due to stigma, language barriers, and a lack of culturally appropriate services. The Hayaan Somali Project is designed to bridge this gap by offering tailored support that understands and respects the cultural needs of the community.
The Hayaan Project provides culturally tailored mental health support to Somali individuals and families facing poverty, social exclusion, and mental health challenges. With this funding, we will host monthly workshops focused on mental health and well-being. A dedicated project coordinator will also offer one-on-one support to families in crisis or those needing extra help.
Our first workshop takes place on Thursday, 24th April at Harrow & Wealdstone Library. More details will be shared soon.
We are incredibly grateful to the National Lottery Community Fund for making this possible. Their support ensures that Somali families in Harrow receive the help they need to thrive.

💙 Together, we can ensure no one faces mental health challenges alone.
