Today is the start of Volunteers’ Week which runs from 1 to 7 June 2020. It’s a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.
This year it is even more important than ever to recognise and support volunteers and here at Mind in Harrow our focus is on supporting volunteers who take on coronavirus-related volunteering roles to help our local community cope with the many consequences of coronavirus.
We are all facing difficult times at the moment, so we want to make sure our volunteers know how grateful we are for their time, their support and their dedication to Mind in Harrow. We have volunteers in all of our projects as well as office and administration volunteers. Over the years volunteers have helped with a variety of tasks such as fundraising, mailouts, training, befriending, campaigning and many more.
At the moment we rely heavily on our Helpline Volunteers who have been (and are continuing to be) our heroes. They have been running their helpline shifts from home and have happily taken on extra shifts and longer shifts. They are continuing to help our local community with the many needs arising.
Thank you so much to all of you, we would not have done this without you!
