Reducing Loneliness and Isolation

Mind in Harrow wants to raise awareness to reduce loneliness and isolation in the community. This is especially important for those facing mental health challenges.

In January 2024, Mind in Harrow held events and surveys to hear residents’ opinions on local mental health services. Many shared how loneliness impacts their lives.

We wanted to find out more about this, so we carried out a survey to hear about people’s experiences with loneliness and isolation.

92% of people told us that there was a need for a befriending service in Harrow. Mind in Harrow will continue to raise awareness of this issue and will work in partnership with other local voluntary and statutory organisations to see how we can work together to reduce loneliness and isolation in Harrow.

If you want to find out more about the findings from our survey you can read the report here.
