Today, on Saturday, 8th March 2025, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to honouring the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women. At Mind in Harrow, we are committed to supporting women’s mental well-being by providing access to essential services and a safe space for connection.
To mark the occasion, our team took a group of women we support on a well-being trip to Kew Gardens. Surrounded by nature, they enjoyed a peaceful and refreshing experience. Studies show that spending time outdoors can reduce stress, boost mood, and improve mental health. The visit allowed the women to connect, reflect, and celebrate their strength in a calming environment.
International Women’s Day reminds us of the importance of mental health and gender equality. At Mind in Harrow, we strive to ensure that every woman has access to the resources and support she needs to thrive. Through peer support, well-being workshops, and mental health services, we continue to uplift and empower women in our community.
If you or someone you know needs support, visit our mental health services page to find out more.
Here is a poem from one of the women we support –
For us, the group from MIND
The weather was so kind
For our trip to Kew
Breathtaking was the view
We were all laughs and smiles
And we walked for many miles
Bright was the sun
We had a lot of fun
How the sky stayed blue
Happy for me and you
For International Women’s Day
Fighters we are and shall stay that way
💜 Let’s continue to celebrate women’s achievements and prioritise well-being today and every day!
